FREE Class Offer for Summer of 2018! (Offer has now expired)

We all long for lazy days at the beach. Now you can escape with a little memory or wish of beautiful coastal days in this fun mini course created by Kellee Wynne Studios.

Seascape Escape is an an easy step by step class to teach you how to paint abstracted cloudy seascapes in a process method developed hand-in-hand with the True Colors program. This is an excellent place to begin if you're new to acrylic painting and want to learn more about your materials and how to begin and end simple landscape paintings. If you're a seasoned artist, there is always something new to discover with ideas and techniques you might not have experienced yet.

We start with the modern primary colors: cyan, yellow and magenta and learn how to mix up a rainbow. The color wheel may seem like an elementary project, but it is a great eye opener to how colors work together. In addition to a step-by-step downloadable PDF there is a complete tutorial on painting the mini seascape in a series. These concepts will be reinforced with additional painting videos of the mini seascapes in action. And because there are always extras with Kellee Wynne Studios, a complete video tutorial of painting the seascape on a larger canvas is being added as a bonus.

Get started today with instant access on an easy to use platform. Once you've registered, this video series is yours to watch, re-watch and enjoy for as long as you'd like.

For the entire summer of 2018 you can get this e-course for FREE. (Sorry, Free class has now expired, sign up for the mailing list to be notified of the next free enrollment))

Color Mixing Video Turtorial

Learning to see and mix and create beautifully with color is a skill that takes time and practice. You can mix these 12 colors with only 3 tubes of paint plus white. It's all part of the color confidence system I have been developing over the last year with Color Crush Creative and the new online program TRUE COLORS.

Using a modern color wheel consisting of Cyan, Yellow and Magenta have revolutionized how I see color. You really can mix the most amazing, vibrant colors with very few tubes of paint!

Color Mix Like a Pro Using Only Three Colors

Yes, it's true, mix like a pro using just three colors plus white! Over the years I have found myself naturally limiting my palette as I mix my own colors more often. Narrowing my palette to my few favorite colors like Quinacridone Magenta, Hansa Yellow medium, Green-Gold, Turquoise, Payne's Grey and Permanent Violet hue - all by Golden Acrylic Paints - I have found I simply just don't need every color. And with the growth of Color Crush Creative, I have been even more aware of color mixing and how to arrive at the desired colors for each palette. But this learning play with just three colors has brought color mixing to a new level.

Art Book Love

I'm a hoarder of books. I believe that you can never have too many and continuing education, especially art education, is essential to staying current, growing and learning what you need to be successful at doing what you love. I average about one new book a week. Some really give me the kick I need and others are duds. I take what I can from all of them and then form my own opinions and plan of action for what I want to accomplish. Sometimes i need help with business and other times I'm searching for new techniques or important fundamentals of painting. In either case, I have listed the books I've the loved the most over the last couple years. Maybe one of these will be just the thing you need to boost your creativity?

How to Find Your Voice as an Artist

Who am I as an artist?

Finding the answer to this is the secret every artists wants to figure out. After reading all kinds of books, spending a lot of time online and grilling all of my artist friends, I have come to only one conclusion. *You must do the work.* Only time spent creating will help you reveal the mystery. And this is one that will keep unfolding your whole art career. I am still asking myself who am I as an artist and I suspect in twenty years I will still be asking myself the same question.

Color Theory Basics with Color Crush Creative

The science, history and art behind color is fascinating. It's a subject that never bores me, in fact I have dozens of books just on color alone. I could ramble for ages, but I'm going to assume that you just want the facts today. Color Theory is still an evolving idea of how we use, see and relate to color; even color can create controversy with its theories. For all intensive purposes we're going to stick with the basic color wheel originating from Sir Issac Newton with Red, Yellow and Blue as our primary colors. I'll leave the other theories for a discussion at a later date.

My Favorite Supplies for Acrylic Painting

I'm asked often about what supplies I use to create my artwork. So I am going to give you a run down of my favorite acrylic painting supplies. So, what do I use? I love Golden acrylic paints. I work fast and in thin layers, so usually I turn to Golden Fluid Paint the most. I often follow up with Golden Heavy Body for details or texture. All of these paints have a very high pigment load and can resist fading over time, an important thing if you want your painting to last.
