Color Crush palette 44: Lost at Sea

Bring on summer!!! These colors certainly make me crave a beachside seat with a fancy drink in hand. But if I can't go to the beach, I can sure bring it to me with this palette. I know that these cool blues are calling your name as well and I can't wait to see what you create using the palette "Lost at Sea". Give yourself the gift of creativity this summer and make some time for your art practice. Even if all you do is bring a box of crayons with you to the beach! ;)

Now, don't let this exact palette inhibit your creative process. Color mixing is for learning but use your intuition when you create and if you go with darker, lighter, bolder, fewer or more colors...well, then do what feels right for your art process. Just keep making more art and tag @colorcrushcreative on Instagram. Use the hashtag #cccpalette44 for these colors or #colorcrushcreative for any colorful post. And don't forget to take the time to be friendly and leave comments for other Crushers!

From the beginning, Color Crush Creative has always been about colors and the exploration of how to mix them yourself no matter your medium. It's been an exciting process to learn and grow right along with you as I mix paints and test my own knowledge. I have discovered how to mix most colors just using the 3 primary colors - cyan, yellow and magenta. But I love the results from certain premade tubes of paint and I don't hesitate to use them. If you haven't heard by now, Golden Artist Colors are my absolute favorite paints. A couple colors I can't live without are Titan Buff, Turquoise, Prussian Blue, Green-Gold, Transparent Pyrrole Orange, Quinacridone Magenta, Indian Yellow and Permanent Violet Deep.

This go around I choose some premixed colors instead of the primaries that I have been using. You can find Prussian Blue, Turquoise, Titan Buff, Transparent Pyrrole Orange Quinacridone Magenta and Permanent Violet Dark plus Liquitex Professional White Gesso as my white to make all of the different tints and shades of Lost at Sea. Do you think you could get the mix right on your own? Nothing needs to be exact to be successful for Color Crush Creative - just try and tag me on Instagram or share in the Facebook Group!
